Santa Rosa, NM Cemetery_2

Well I've recovered my lost vacation photos and all it took was being without my computer for a couple of days and about $45.00. Heck, I may never consider a back-up scheme if that's all it takes!!!

This shot is the second shot I've posted of this old church building located in an old cemetery in Santa Rosa, NM. The place has an historic marker and from it I believe this old church was relocated to the cemetery in recent times, although the wording on the plaque was a little ambiguous. As you can tell the church now consist of only four partial stacked-stone exterior walls.

Cool shot Larry!

Lots and lots of interesting textures to enjoy in this one. Nice composition too!

Well done!

I like this one a lot, but I do wish that you had a little more contrast in the wall. Good composition.

The somber greyish coloring seem appropriate for a cemetery. I am a little confused on what is in the foreground. It that a bush with somekind of flowers that is moving?

As I understand the history of the church, it was built as the private chapel of a major landowner and, in the tradition of the area and the times, family burials were done immediately around it from the beginning. The landowner had moved from Anton Chico north to what is now Santa Rosa due to some kind of feud or dispute. In doing so, he essentially moved the center of the county from Anton Chico to Santa Rosa.
