Caprock Canyons State Park 1

Caprock Canyons State Park, located outside of Quitague [pronounce Kitty Quay] Texas 100 mile south of Amarillo, is sort of the little brother to Palo Duro State Park in Canyon, TX. We visited Caprock as an afterthought on our way to Palo Duro and were pleasantly surprised to find that we enjoyed this smaller quieter park as much or more than the big park. Highly recommended.

It may be Palo Duro's little brother but it is a really great little park for hiking and seeing Texas' official buffalo herd! I really enjoyed my visit to both Palo Duro and Caprock earlier this year.

Nice landscape shot. I wish you would have had something a little more prominent in the foreground to anchor the image.

Hope to see some more images from both parks.

Nice shot Larry!

I really like the light on the most distant canyon but like Patrick I wish there were something more interesting in the foreground area. You might try to selectively brighten an element from the foreground (an interesting rock or shrub) and see if that helps kick it up a notch. It may even help just to brighten up the whole foreground. Something to try anyway.

Cheers!

You seem to be wanting to show the drop into the canyon and the distant formations. I feel something needs to be done about the foreground too.

My suggestion differs in that I think it should be cropped out. Maybe try a square format or just crop it at the edge leading into the canyon. See if that gives it the impact you wanted to convey to the viewer.
