Texas Avenue Oak

This oak tree stands in the middle of the western end of Texas Avenue in Baytown, TX. The street, which was the central thoroughfare of Baytown's business district for many years, runs on both sides of the old tree. No one know how old it is but one written account from 1909 reports it to have been over 100 years old and already a local landmark back them.

A unique concept placing the tree in a composite to fit all the elements of its history in the same shot. Good job Larry.

I agree with Doug. Intersting concept and composition. I think it could be improved by cropping to the base of the tree trunk. That would ground the tree rather than having it float and would work better for me. Somehting to try anyway.

Cheers!
