Roadside Merchant

I spotted a street merchant set up on a corner in the Canal and Wayside (Cesar Chavez Blvd) area of East Houston selling his wares. Among the items for sell were these brooms. I like the scene, I think there's more potential than this shot conveys, and will be going back there for another approach.

I think you could do several shots of only the brooms--just the tops, the handles, etc. I think it would make an interesting study in color and patterns. Really good job spotting this one.

I like the general view also. I do not believe that the street cone is the image. The image is the colorful brooms and sign. Have you considered emphansizing the sign with the brooms in support?

Thanks Larry and Wayne. One of the shots I want to take on the re-do of this will definetly include a pano of the tops of the brooms and the sign. But I'm also sure there are several other shots there.

I think all the variations mentioned would be good shots. On this particular shot I think the cone doesn't really fit in; it distracts from the rest of the image. When you go back see if the vendor will let you move the cone for a minute!

Cheers!
