Cool shot Larry! I like your composition and post-processing. To me the intensity of the juggler's expression makes the shot but I also find a lot of interest in the out of focus background.
What an interesting image. The colors, the fire, the juggler's face all capture my attention but the silhouetted people in the background finish it all off. Street photography at its best --- great job.
If I didn't know from your description that this was in Kemah, I might think it was a journalistic photo of a riot in some place like Haiti! The smoke and wavy heat lines obscure and distort the out-of-focus background enough to make it look like there are fires in the background too. To me, this photo has quite a frenetic mood.
That may not be what you were going for, but very well done nevertheless!
I work in the industrial distribution sector as a salesman for a master distributor of valves and fittings in Houston, TX. I am a member of the Bay Area Photo Club which meets at the Art Alliance Center at Clear Lake in Clear Lake Texas on Tuesday nights. I shoot with an Olympus E-3 and my favorite lens in my Zuiko 12-60.
