Water Flower

My flower shots share something in common with my bird shots - I usually don't know what type I'm shooting! This one is no exception, I like it but I'll just have to call it a water flower for identification purposes. It's one of those shots that I never get tired of shooting. I guess it's not just the beauty of the flowers but also the dark water and texture of the floating lilly pads in the background that appeal to me.

This typically is called a Water Lily flower. Some people may call it a Lotus flower but, I'm used to those looking slightly different from this one.

I like the composition and colors. Also the focus is a little soft which I think adds to the beauty of the scene.

Well done!
