By popular demand - here is a cropped version of yesterday's post. I am always concerned that I might be cropping away to much of the "environment" from an "environmental photo" when I do this. What do you think?
I took this photo of an Osprey at the Baytown Nature Center on Sunday morning. As we were watching it on the branch of a tree it took off, flew below the tree line, and then returned to another tree with a fish.
This was my second entry in Tuesday night's Bay Area Photo Club of Clear Lake's Honor's Night Program. This shot is of the same small creek off West Bay Road in Chambers County, TX I posted two days ago. This effort resulted in a Silver award.
The Bay Area Photo Club of Clear Lake had their Honor's Night program last night and the shooting assignment was "Blue". In spite of the three month window to shoot the assignment I ended up taking this shot the morning of the meeting and printing it an hour before the deadline! One of the judges didn't like the glaring light which was of course my favorite aspect of the shot and something I actually emphasized in post-processing. Oh well, you pay you money and takes your chances!
I work in the industrial distribution sector as a salesman for a master distributor of valves and fittings in Houston, TX. I am a member of the Bay Area Photo Club which meets at the Art Alliance Center at Clear Lake in Clear Lake Texas on Tuesday nights. I shoot with an Olympus E-3 and my favorite lens in my Zuiko 12-60.
