I took this shot of a little antique store called "Cherokee Rose Trading Post" outside of Rosharon, TX last Sunday.  It's a handheld 5 shot HDR composite that was post processed in Photoshop and enhanced with Topaz plug-ins.  I shot it with my Olympus E-1 and Pro Series 12-40 f2.8 wide angle lens.

NEGLECTED CHUTE

I took this shot at on old ranch in Warrington, TX on a trip to the Spring Antique Weekend.  There is an old house and barn but this neglected cattle chute caught my eye.

CEDAR BAYOU TRESTLE BAYTOWN

This shot is looking down a set of abandoned railroad tracks leading to a trestle over Cedar Bayou in Baytown, TX.  On the left of the shot is an old maintenance and operations building that was used to support trestle operations back in the day.  I think it's been close to a decade now since a train last crossed here and the trestle is slated for demolition to make room for an additional bridge crossing as part of the Hwy 99 Grand Parkway project that will circle Houston.

ONE CHAIR TIME CAPSULE

This was my second shot submitted under the "Missing" assignment at the BAPC's "Honors Night" on Thursday.  The "Missing" connection I was going for was a "time gone by".  Dianne and I were walking down the street in Bryson City, NC when we came to this old single chair barber shop.  It was closed and I took this shot through the plate glass window in front.

HARDWICK WOOLEN MILL

This old shuttered mill in Cleveland Tennessee was built in 1890 and is experiencing a renaissance of sorts.  It was purchased by an investor in 1999 and is now being utilized for multiple uses including an event center, apartments and office space.

A couple of more shots from the Pavel Ruck house on Lyons Ave in Houston's 5th Ward.

Fifth Ward's Pavel Ruck House

Houston Artists Dan Havel and Dean Ruck moved an old home onto an empty lot on Lyons Ave and turned it into a pretty cool work of art. After using recycled materials to make the house look partially turned inside out and adding a stage it is now a publicly accessible park and community meeting place.
