Two of Kauai's claims to fame are wild chickens and red dirt. It's estimated that the wild chicken population may out number permanent residents on the island. The large number is most usually attributed to the destruction of chicken coops and farms during hurricane Iniki in 1992.
My wife and I just got back from a trip to the Hawaiian island of Kauai. While we were there I took this shot of the island's Na Pali coastline during a helicopter tour.
I work in the industrial distribution sector as a salesman for a master distributor of valves and fittings in Houston, TX. I am a member of the Bay Area Photo Club which meets at the Art Alliance Center at Clear Lake in Clear Lake Texas on Tuesday nights. I shoot with an Olympus E-3 and my favorite lens in my Zuiko 12-60.
