BICYCLE POLO SEATTLE STYLE

While we were in Seattle we watched this group of locals playing several games of bicycle polo.  They weren't about to let a little rain slow them down!

SHIPWRECK BEACH SURFER

Kauai's Shipwreck Beach ended up being one of my favorite beaches to hang out at.  The sloping white sandy beach draws lots of surfers, boogie boarders, and body surfers and features a cliff at one end that locals often dive off of.

ANIKA SWINGING

I took this photo of my niece this morning at my sister's house with my 50-500mm Sigma lens mounted on my Olympus E-3.  The shot was handheld with available light.

Kite Flying at Discovery Green

Another shot from this weekends trip to Discovery Green Park in downtown Houston. I watched these guys try and get this kite in the air for a while but they never did. Finally I asked my wife what she thought they were doing wrong? She said "there's no wind blowing", and I said "Hmmm." She always was the smart one!

Factory Girl

I believe this young lady races on the Sea-Doo factory team. I hadn't seen this type of watercraft before - a cross between a jet ski and a wave runner. It has a seat, but it's suspended from the steering column instead of being built into the hull. I couldn't find anything on it on the Sea-Doo web page, maybe it's still in development or something. Remember you saw it here first!

Ropin'

From the archives – This shot is from the ’07 Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo. Taken at the exhibition arena it’s one of many that I have on my hard drive that I probably shouldn’t like, but I do. I was using my old super zoom camera, which is not low light performer, on an indoor action shot and got just about the grainy soft shot I suppose I should have. I also had to remove a lot of clutter, the roping is a team event, to provide a clear subject to the photo.
