North Houston Tea Party Patriots

Saturday the North Houston Tea Party Patriots held a Tea [Taxed Enough Already] Party at the Sam Houston Race Park. Great weather played a role as thousands [no attendance numbers yet but I'm thinking easily over 10,000] came early and stayed late to the hear the speakers talk about conservative issues. Not on the list of featured speakers, this Uncle Sam character was on hand in costume to work the crowd.

Tax Day 2010

Well it's Tax Day once again so I hope everyone has their "voluntary" federal taxes in the mail by now! The first United States income tax was imposed in July 1861, at 3% of all incomes over 800 dollars in order to help pay for the war effort in the American Civil War. It's hard to believe that this simple act would evolve into the ridiculous tax code that we have today. A tax code designed to be complicated enough that tax professionals interpret it differently and "commoners" can't begin to understand it. Hopefully some form of "flat" or "fair" tax will replace the current tax code soon at a level that is closer to original intent.

Hope and Change

Last night the House voted to pass the Senate health care bill in spite of it's overwhelming opposition by the American people. This doesn't mean it's over yet there are still legislative hurtles and pending law suits that could save the American people from this hideous legislation. Legislation that scraps health care for the 85% of Americans that are satisfied with their current insurance [and 100% of the working people] in an effort to accelerate redistribution of wealth from the people who produce it to the alcoholics, drug addicts, illegal aliens, and people that for whatever reason simply don't want it. Their goals here are about 95% pure evil and range from growing a permanent government-dependent class [read Democrats] and punishing achievement to government funded abortion and the remaking of America into the socialist nation in Obama's image that he promised in his campaign. Oh yea, and at least about 5% of the motivation for this unilateral push is for health care reform [notice I didn't say improvement.] Then there is the $2.4 Trillion dollar price tag. If you voted for this man-child community organizer I have one question for you: HOW'S THAT HOPE AND CHANGE WORKING OUT FOR YOU?

Well this is it - the Texas State House or Representatives Chamber at the Texas State Capital Building in Austin, Texas where each one of the chairs pictured above is filled with the fat rear end of one of our elected officials whenever Congress is in session. Whether you participate or not the House members that occupy this room, along with the Senators in the corresponding Senate Chamber, are making the decisions that impact how you live your lives! As politicians in Washington mull over how to spend a trillion plus dollars to solve a quasi "emergency" in our nations health care system (now where was that in the Constitution?) one of our Texas lawmaker's newest laws goes into effect on Saturday.

Effective September 1, the 61 page document called house bill 1831, gives local law enforcement officials the right to arrest anyone if they refuse to leave the area, should a mandatory evacuation be called. This is a sweet bill that would treat you like your were Branch Davidian David Koresh should you decide to stay home during a storm instead of risking your life on an evacuation. All this in the name of public safety and saving us from ourselves. God protect us from those that would confine us to a cradle for all our lives so that we don't have to be confronted with the challenges of real life!

From yesterdays San Jacinto Tea Party rally at Houston Raceway Park. We had a pretty good turnout, I would say 1500 or so, with Jim McIngvale [AKA: Mattress Mac] and Congressman Ted Poe on the card as the key note speakers. Another good event by the San Jacinto Tea Party group!

Since I am temporarily photo-challenged I thought I would use today's posting to invite everyone to the San Jacinto Tea Party Rally tonight at the Houston Raceway Park in Baytown. Many of you will be busy on the 4th so this might be your best opportunity to participate in a worthwhile effort. Come out and hear Texas State Senator Dan Patrick, Congressman Ted Poe, and others speak about the important issues facing America today.

TEA PARTY 4

This shot will conclude my images and comments from the Baytown TEA Party. In this shot a young girl and her mom [I presume] are trying to figure out how to work a megaphone. To me this is a good example of how the whole rally went. Not that the organization was bad, but I’m convinced most of the protesters on hand were first-timers, like my wife and I. It took some effort on a lot of people’s part, including mine, to temporarily merge into this group and learn what it’s like to participate in this type of an activist event. One could imagine that if the protest would have been organized by the other side, pro socialism vs. this pro capitalism, that the crowd that showed up would have be much the opposite – more like the rent-a-mob mostly college age rabble rousers you’re accustomed to seeing.
