BFD Fire Station 4

Here's a different version [above] based on some on and off blog responses. What do you think?
Another shot from the Baytown Photo Club field trip to Fire Station 2 this past weekend.

I'm torn about this one Larry. I like what appears to be the main subject quite a bit (boots, hat, pants). I'm just not sure of taking the engine out of the shot by using the edge treatment. It might even be the big E-2 signifying Engine 2 that is throwing me. I'll keep thinking on it.

I hear you Doug. I wasn't sure about this image either. To me it's an unusual mix of abstract and traditional technique but the straight shot just seemed too cliche'. And at the end of the day I still like the published treatment.

My uncertainty may have something to do with the signage, all of it. That seems to be my sticking point. I don't take issue with the edge treatment.

I wish someone else would chime in on the second version. I still think it's the lettering and signage that kills it for me. I really did not have a problem with the edge treatment in the original Larry.
