SCATTERED STORMS POSSIBLE

I entered this composite image in the "open" category of the Bay Area Photo Club of Clear Lake's "Honors Night" program and was awarded a "Gold" award by the three judge panel.  It's a two shot composite, basically one shot with the "rain" and flower and one shot with the cloud in another, that have been blended together in Photoshop.  The "cloud" is a ball of poly filler available in the fabric section of Hobby Lobby.

PUMP AT TOUBIN PARK BRENHAM

This pump is mounted at Toubin Park in Brenham, TX.  It's a small pocket park created on the foundation of an old building in the historic downtown area.

I set up this still life shot as a possible contender for the Bay Area Photo Club's July assignment "High Key" but didn't end up using it.

Baking Brownies

My wife was decorating the small kitchen area where she works and wanted to shoot a shot to use that would compliment my the shot in my September 16 post [search "food"] and this was the resulting shot. It always amazes me how long it takes to shoot a still life when you set it up, it isn't moving, and you control all the lighting!

Product Shot

The photo assignment for last night's Bay Area Photo Club's "Honors Night" program was "Product Shot" and this was my entry. It's an old Argus 35MM film camera I found at a local garage sale.

I thought this little chandelier and it's interesting shadow pattern on the wall made for an interesting light show.

Traveling Man

This shot is of a vignette inside an antique railroad car at the Rosenberg Railroad Museum taken at the "Second Annual Rosenberg Railroad Festival & Hobo Days" event early in May of this year.

This shot will be my submission for the Baytown Photo Club's April assignment "macro". This shot is of a miniature train set up permanently at the Rosenberg Railroad Museum and photographed the last weekend in April at the "Second Annual Rosenberg Railroad Festival & Hobo Days" event.

From the Walisville Bird Sanctuary a month ago or so, this is a shot I've been considering for the upcoming BAPC assignment "Less is More" - an exercise in minimalism.

BFD Fire Station 2

This weekend I went on a field trip with the Baytown Photography Club to the Baytown Fire Departments Fire Station #2 on Market Street. I wasn't completely satisfied with the shots I got but did get a few to share. This shot of bunker gear hanging at the ready was my favorite.

Keeping with yesterday's industrial theme, I shot this headache ball and block on a mobile crane that was doing some work in Baytown a while back. I don't know why but I like the subject as a still life study.
