METHODIST CHURCH AT CADES COVE

I think this Methodist Church is probably one of the most photographed churches around. I did a GOOGLE IMAGES search on it though and I didn't see any shots I liked as much as mine. [Of course I could be a little biased!] It's taken from the Rich Mountain Road which is a 12 mile unpaved mountain side ride that runs one way from Cades Cove to Townsend, TN.

This shot was hand held with my Olympus O-MD EM1 and a 40-150 F2.8 telephoto all the way out.  Settings were F4.5 # 1/800 and ISO 1250 on auto.

Chapel Hill Vignette

I photographed these cattle along side a creek near Chapel Hill Texas this past Sunday. I used the shot to experiment with creating a tilt shift lens effect I'd seen done on a YouTube video and thought the effect turned out to be interesting. Gou Hole Rd.

I took this shot Sunday out at the old boat ramp at Gou Hole Road in Chambers County while trying to chase down a little weather front that blew through. Timing is everything on weather shots and the shot I was hoping for here really passed over this location about five minutes earlier when the skies were a bit more dramatic.

Sunset at the Hartman Bridge

I shot this sunset from Evergreen road yesterday evening. I used on camera flash to pop the sunflowers in the foreground and added a little texture to the scene.

San Jacinto River Crossing

This shot is of the San Jacinto River just off old HWY 90 near Crosby Texas. The timing of the train crossing was a stroke of luck. I always say "it's better to be lucky than good!"

Swamp Dog

Jessie, one of Marcus de la Houssaye's Catahoula hog dogs, splits his time on swamp tours between looking on the bow of the boat on alligator watch and napping.

Hugo Point Bridge_2

Here's a shot from Hugo Point a couple of weeks ago shot in my Oly E-5's "Gentle Sepia" mode. I added the vignette, a little texture, and lightened the image.
