It's not the shot I'd hoped for, but I was glad to finally get a shot of one of the Baytown Eagles in flight. It was late in the evening for my slow rig so I was excited to get something usable under the circumstances.
I took this shot Saturday morning of the eventual winner of the inaugural running of the Baytown "Jailbreak Half Marathon". This shot is at the foot of the Fred Hartman Bridge on the Baytown side as the runners turned into Bayland Marina at a water stop. I set up in this location to be sure I had the bridge in the background.
I've been checking out this crane for about a week now. It's located at a plant, I think Lyondell, off of Lawndale near the Richey exit I'm not sure my shot does justice to the extreme size of this thing, but it is a genuine monster.
I had several comments about the base image used in my surreal shot "Defiance" yesterday so I though I would post it here. This shot was taken right after a brief shower while the sky was still dramatic.
My second shot submitted for the BAPC Honor's Night program was "Defiance", a composite made up of 4 individual shots. The judging panel awarded the shot a "Silver".
The category for last night's BAPC Honors Night program was "Surreal Composition" and this was one of my entries. "Weird Science" in a combination of parts of 5 different images and was awarded a "Silver" by the 3 judge panel.
Another battle scene from last weekends reenactment during the fund raising event "Homes for the Troops Sporting Clays Tournament" held at Bush Park in West Houston.
Not so much! But this gentlemen was a good enough likeness to be entertaining at the "Homes for the Troops Sporting Clays Tournament" this past weekend.
One of my favorite Patton quotes is "A good plan violently executed now is better than a perfect plan executed next week." I hope our newly elected Congress thinks of this quote as they work towards cutting the budget and repealing Obamacare.
I work in the industrial distribution sector as a salesman for a master distributor of valves and fittings in Houston, TX. I am a member of the Bay Area Photo Club which meets at the Art Alliance Center at Clear Lake in Clear Lake Texas on Tuesday nights. I shoot with an Olympus E-3 and my favorite lens in my Zuiko 12-60.
