I headed over to the Baytown Nature Center this past Saturday morning to shoot some birds but, since that action was slow, butterflies became my center of focus.
I work in the industrial distribution sector as a salesman for a master distributor of valves and fittings in Houston, TX. I am a member of the Bay Area Photo Club which meets at the Art Alliance Center at Clear Lake in Clear Lake Texas on Tuesday nights. I shoot with an Olympus E-3 and my favorite lens in my Zuiko 12-60.

Nice shot Larry! I like the composition and that all the right stuff is in focus. Really nice job of blurring the background to make the subject pop!
Cheers!
Barry
Nice picture, like the pop in the colors both flower and butterfly. Was this a long lens? Narrow DOF which I like.
I like the OOF background and how it sets off your subject. I also like the diagonal created by the composition. Nice job Larry.
Thanks Barry, David, and Doug.
David - I used 363MM of my 500MM "Bigma" lens @ F6.3, 1/320, and ISO 100 steadied on the roof of car. I then adjusted the exposure in bridge.
