This shot is looking across a field of grass located at the North East corner of the Baytown Nature Center off Bayway Dr. in Baytown, TX. It is a three shot composite HDR that also includes a dose of Topaz Adjust "Portrait Smooth" preset.
I think if you tried something like Barry's shot on his blog http://barrysphotoblog.blogspot.com/, you might be on to something. The light is pretty harsh to pull this one off.
