I like your composition here and the subject(s), but I wish you had been able to use a wide aperture or had found another angle so the cars and the people in the background were blurred out or not visible at all, leaving just the children and the fountain. This would have made a good entry for the "Summer in Texas" assignment.
I work in the industrial distribution sector as a salesman for a master distributor of valves and fittings in Houston, TX. I am a member of the Bay Area Photo Club which meets at the Art Alliance Center at Clear Lake in Clear Lake Texas on Tuesday nights. I shoot with an Olympus E-3 and my favorite lens in my Zuiko 12-60.

Cool shot of a cool fountain!
The only time I've been to Discovery Green that fountain wasn't even on.
Nice composition that really accentuates the fountain's large size and spray pattern.

Good shot of children at play. I believe this one would also offer a lot of great opportunity for unusual perspective photos. Good job.
